FAQ's

(1)     What if I find cheaper rental gear at another shop in Wanaka?

We already give you the cheapest rental rates in Wanaka.

But if you find a cheaper rate, no problem, we’ll even beat the price by 10%.

 

(2) What kind of quality is the ski and snowboard gear?

We are very proud of our gear. Our skis are ALL carving skis and both boards and skis plus all our boots are only 3-4 years old.

Our brands include Rossignol, Salomon, Fischer, Ride, Burton, Option, Nordica, Dalbello and RPM. So we guarantee you’ll enjoy our gear.

 

(3) What if the mountain is closed for the day and I’ve paid for rental gear?

No problem, if all the mountains are closed (Treble Cone, Cardrona and or Snow Park) are closed we will refund you the days rental when you return your gear.

 

(4) Can I collect my gear the night before my first day’s skiing/boarding?

Yes, you can come in to Rocket Rental to get your gear fitted from 3pm – 7pm the night before your first day on the slopes.

 

(5) How often are your skis and boards tuned?

After every rental our gear is checked carefully by our friendly, experienced staff. After every rental longer than two days our skis and boards are fully tuned.

 

(6) Do my kids need to wear a helmet?

It’s not compulsory for children to wear helmets but we recommend all children wear helmets (and wrist guards for snowboarding).

 

(7)     Can I park outside Rocket Rental?

Yes, we are on the corner of Brownston and Helwick Streets in the town centre. There is 60 minute street parking on Brownston Street and 30 minute street parking on Helwick Street, both right outside the shop. Alternatively, if that’s full up you can collect gear from our back door, we have a driveway off Brownston Street, directly behind our store.
