FAQ

Q- What does insurance cover? Do I need it?

A- Insurance is $3 a person per day. It covers any reparable damage and halves the cost of non-reparable damage. We highly recommend insurance as it gives you general peace of mind considering regularly changing snow conditions can leave the mountain with a relatively thin snow base throughout the season making it possible to hit rocks.

Q-  When can I pick up my equipment?

A- You pick up anytime from 3pm the day before your booking. Allowing you to get up the hill more easily in the morning. Alternatively, we open at 7:30 in the morning and are happy to get you fitted first thing.

Q- Do I need to wear a helmet?

A- We highly recommend it, though it is not compulsory. Helmet hire is $8 a day, avoiding injury in priceless.

Q- How often is the rental equipment serviced?

A- All skis and snowboards are serviced in the workshop after every use ensuring that the equipment is in peak condition of you.

Q- Can I bring my personal equipment in for a tune?

A- Yes! We have a highly skilled team of workshop technicians. We are more than happy to help you decide which workshop service is best for your equipment and your budget.

Q- If I rented from Base NZ do I drop off with you?

A- Yes! We ask that you drop off the equipment you rented with Base NZ at our back entrance and press the doorbell on the wall. We will come to help you as soon as we are able to.

Q- What if I want to take a day off from skiing or snowboarding?

A- We are able to a lot for one rest day where you are able to keep the equipment with you. Along with this, we still hire bikes during the winter! A perfect rest day activity is to take an e-bike out for a ride by the beautiful Wanaka waterfront.
